Is this like counseling?

No, the program is considered Marriage and Relationship Education (MRE). MRE teaches relationship skills and focuses on giving couples knowledge about what makes relationships successful. Unlike counseling, it doesn't focus on problems. Marriage and relationship education (MRE) is designed to be preventative, so you ideally won’t need marriage counseling later on.

Is marriage and relationship education best for pre-married couples?

Since weddings and wedding planning are so stressful, it would be helpful to have these skills before the wedding. However, that’s also a period of limited time and money. So, take this class before the wedding if you can, but if that’s difficult, add it to your gift registry and attend right after the wedding.

Is this a religious class or program?

No. This program is based on the results of many studies by widely recognized researchers in the field of interpersonal relationships and marital satisfaction.

We don’t like the group format, can we take this class as a couple?

Currently, the program is only offered in a group format. However, you may choose to take the Prepare/Enrich assessment and meet with me privately to review the results.
